Cognizant Technology Solutions pay scale is far below average. The management is beyond poor; Imagine taking the most cynical and unproductive person with no communication skills who is never at work and making them a manager, that's what the management feels like to the average employee. The job itself is easy but the environment for workers makes it hard to deliver your targets. Every aspect is timed, the customers don't trust the company due to bad services and. Forget a day off! Employees are severely penalized for not meeting targets.
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"No future development, structure and visibility on upcoming projects. Constant leadership shuffle and alignment. Everyone works in Silo. They over work and undersell on projects"
Former Employee - Technology Specialist says"Office politics and low pay for people transferred from india"
Current Employee - Solution Designer says"Bad salary, junior gets more then senior position. No proper explanation from HR. Only get promotions if you polish your senior management. Actual contribution never evaluated."
Current Employee - Senior Consultant says"Current leadership is clueless on bringing the company up. HR team is probably the worst you would ever come across"
Former Employee - Dev says"- the culture of the company.. oh man.. I'm trying to be as politically correct as I can be. Nobody cares about anything, it's the worst company culture I've encountered in my 15+ years of experience. - my feelings were that everyone is concerned with not losing their job; that's the predominant feeling: fear - if your project for some reason is not billable anymore (idk, maybe it's suspended), you're given a very short period to find another project or you're terminated. And that is wrong on so many levels: 1. you're not being told about this in the interview 2. I was hired at Cognizant and not at a Client. If I wanted to be hired by one of the clients I would have contacted them for a job and not you. 3. It's up to Cognizant HR to find a new project for employees, not for employees to literally beg for a project on different channels or internal tools. That's just humiliating. But I guess humiliation is a core value for C."
Former Employee - Analyst says"They can fire you whenever they want."
Current Employee - Content Moderator says"In the news: New CEO Suddenly Decides to Drop Cognizant’s $250m-a-Year Content Moderation Business Despite all the hard work the employees have put in to make this part of Cognizant's business work they are now being thrown out because of a new CEO!!! Stay away from any company that throws away profitable business and it's employees."
Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer says"TD is worst to work with cognizant is much more professional and paywise also great but TD the ppl and managers are jealous cognizant being paid well also they bargain like vegetable farmers market in china . Work is there but offshore makes hours worse .Also the project might long for few months again new setup."
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"management is horrible, with no clarity or respect at all."
Current Employee - Senior Associate says"I am working in Cognizant for more than 8 yrs now. Currently in Canada 1. Every year promotion cycle delayed. there is no surety that you will get promoted even after your best performance through out years. 2. i am in same designation from last 6 years and your manager/sr managers will somehow make you understand that you are doing good but there are another 1000 like you. So you need to put more hrs. 3. no work life balance. if you are closed work permit. your manager will try to exploit you as they know you want to stay in Onsite and will make you work from morning 5 am to night 1.30 pm. happened with me. after that if you raise your voice they will tell you do you want to go back home (India) ??"
Manager - Projects (Current Employee) says"Large scale body shopping company - nothing fancyLong work hours, extremely low salary and a broken performance management system together make this company a bad one to work for."
Associate (Former Employee) says"Never ever step into this company. Don't spoil your future just for the sake of some salary. Politics in all sections of the company. Even if u work hard, they will give you the least rating by saying some silly excuses. So never waste your efforts here. There are many many good companies outside. So try to grab those. In Cognizant, You will not get any learning opportunity. It's a waste of time.is an example of "what a company should NOT be like". Regarding pay, your salary will be credited regularly but not as u expect. They declare the package in a high way but when comes to take home after all silly deductions, u will end up in getting hardly a few. so don't fall in their traps. They will demand lakhs per resource from clients per month but give thousands in your hands and take the remaining as their profit and act as if they are giving u high salary. Very cunning HRs and managers. No voice for the employees. Most stupid people I have ever come across.nothing good to say.is an example of "what a company should NOT be like""
Senior Associate (Former Employee) says"There are only 2 sides in Cognizant. In the project that I worked, I was given no leave. We used to work late nights and on weekends without benefits. Its like we were just objects for the upper management to earn in dollars. Just squeeze us like lemon and take all the juice. Then we saw the other side, who had literally no work and enjoyed playing games etc during office hours. Unfortunately the remuneration will be the same no matter which side you end up. From the upper managements point of view no matter how hard you work, you are all billed the same dollars. So we are all the same. Since the time I began working at Cognizant India, it's famous employee friendly culture has only been degrading. As in most companies, here too there is a lot of internal politics for promotion, performance rating, work visa. Most upper management are incompetent and so they know that politics is the only way for them to survive. Instead of trimming billable resources, Cognizant should trim this "dead wood" at the top who have spoiled the culture for everyone. Their only competency is bending in front of clients and shaking their heads for whatever they say, agree on low billing to get contracts(and get their own promotions), and make the employees below work their ### off to complete the project within unrealistic deadlines. The only motivation is through fake promises of promotion, visa etc. When you dont get anything as promised they will put in more fake promises. The talent management are the biggest joke. I have hardly seen them managing talent. If you mail them, they wont answerNothingLong hours, fake promises, incompetent management, politics, burn out"
Associate (Former Employee) says"Extremely bad experience, very poor management, although the project was really challenging the performance of the team leaders and the project manager was poor with very limited experience. They did not quite understand the project and created a toxic workplace where it's difficult for workers to shine. Managers had personality issues and they were hired with insufficient interpersonal skills to be managers in the first place. The office space is appropriateThe work environment is toxic"
Manager (Former Employee) says"Not recommended. Lot of pressure from Management apart from customer deliverable and time spent in office is calculated. No Transparency and growth and culture. Not ApplicableLong working hours. They don't focus on work but time spent if office."
Senior Associate (Former Employee) says"Please dont join this company this company will screw the careers of experienced professional. The management is not far and no increment and they won't give ur variable pay also. Entirely this company is waste to join.No prosFull cons only in simple words waste company to join"
Project Manager (Current Employee) says"They don't have any Pros the senior management are idiots, specially the CEO BRIAN and one line down subordinates and the companies partners.HR and Bench team is horrible. They usually do hire and fire. one month bench policy. If you are in bench more than month HR will behind keep a personal hearing session so called neutral personal who will not hear from you anything rather than to make you victimize. The TSC team is useless. The company hired the people as when required with high salary no bench policy the HR, management and business are reluctant to do their job and lots of politics inside the company . Please don't hire people without the requirement and make their career horrible because all resources working for company and familiesOnly Yearly medical checkup is good practiceThey have a bad practice hire and fire no bench and horrible HR and Management"

They even don't care about their employees... Content Moderator (Former Employee) says"They got hacked so their goes our info. They fire people left and right They play favorites When you do good they will not reward you. The managers get to review how well you did in the quarter and that will determine your bonus. Analyst (Current Employee) says"I think the management after 2017 ruined everything, the team became more like many teams inside it, no connection with HR to know your rights or to answer your concerns"
Senior Associate (Former Employee) says"This company is not doing good. There was no promotion cycle on the year of 2019. Management wants to get money and resources are the machine who creates that money. Worst company to stay long."

People steal accounts and supervisors care nothing about your concerns, they only care about numbers. The office manager pretends she knows all that goes on in her office but doesn’t and cares very little to resolve issues unless it’s about the client or numbers"
Sr. Manager, IT (Current Employee) says"All they are concerned with the bottom line employees are second they will replace you with someone form Indea first chance they get. Insurance is ok but to expensiveNoneGreedy"
